There are currently 12 databases to which the site claims exclusive access and which are fully searchable online - they include wills indexes, gazetteers, apprentice abstracts and burial indexes.

There is a free name search available which will bring up just the number of results within the various databases but to view those results you will have to register and pay for access. For a one-shot 72 hours' access you have to stump up £7.50 or you can pay a £10.50 monthly charge, or an annual charge of £34.50. It's a good site and it is probably worth it.

Well worth a visit whether or not your family came from aristocratic blood. There are searchable sections, including British prime ministers and US presidents, as well as an extensive 'Learn About...' section that provides a wealth of information on areas such as British royalty, historic castles and houses and heraldry, along with Scottish and Irish clan chiefs and feudal barons. You can also search its records or follow them in alphabetical order. This is a massive list of names, each with a link to their family homepage providing more information on their lineage.
